What is a Dynamic Digital Sign?
Let's break it down:Dynamic...not static.
Digital...not analog. Refers to use of computer driven visual displays.
Sign...a publicly displayed or posted notice, board, or other device bearing letters, symbols and/or designs to convey a designation, name, direction, information, instruction, warning, advertisement, or other message.
Dynamic Signage in the broad sense has been in use for decades in the form of LED ticker signs, animated neon and video walls.
Dynamic Digital Signage today includes scrolling message boards, LCD or plasma display panels, electronic billboards, projection screens, or other emerging display types like Organic LED screens (OLEDs) that can be controlled electronically using a computer or other device, allowing individuals or groups to remotely change and control content (usually via the Internet).
The content displayed on digital signage screens can range from simple text and still images to full-motion video, with or without audio.
Digital signage is used for many different purposes:
1. Information
2. Retail In-Store Promotions
3. Third Party Advertising
4. Enhanced Customer Experience
5. Influencing Customer Behavior
6. Brand Building
It is a form of electronic publishing targeted to known customers and tailored uniquely to each location and time period.
